Untangled

Maybe life, in all its mysteries, is much
like reading a Mary Oliver poem.
It’s not about counting syllables
or forcing rhyme; it’s about
breathing deeply
of woods, of rain,
of blossom, of berry;
and in the words there’s that moment of recognition,
and you know the simple answer—
enjoy.

Perfect Jennifer... the fact i read MO here made everything feels perfect for me already... you def have figured out one of the quality i so liked about MO's poetry... there is an ineffable quality of bliss in her poetry that humbles a lot of me... i think you nailed the prompt in such an adorably simple way... def enjoy the moment & trust... smiles... an excellent offering... loved it!

It's really easy to forget the essence and purpose isn't it?

I agree with you. Sometimes we can analyze too much and get so caught up in the 'puzzles' that we cease to enjoy. Now...to put this into practice! Smiles.

mmm i like that it is breathing deep of life...and that the answer is to enjoy....we can get so caught up in the making it pretty that we miss the beauty of it all...

Like another person said - this is very wise.

People do focus too much on the details. I am one of them. I have a hard time seeing the big picture

Sounds good to me.

So true! We can analyze poems and life to death, but really we need to just enjoy.

I love this - beautiful:

breathing deeply
of woods, of rain,
of blossom, of berry

Touché. I like the word "enjoy" even over "yes." http://looseleafnotes.com
