medianoche en el valle del sol

the close of march—

the phoenix rose,

petals burning—

you caught them

with damp palms,

rubbed them lime-light

on my skin,

sipping salt

from the spoon

of my throat,

drunk

on the moonshine

margarita of spring

puppy, love (two poems for spring)

puppy tongue

drool,

            pant,

            play

lather deliriously

                        drunk

on a luscious lick

                        of spring

blush

this poem

is a surprise

        peach-pink tulip

between the lips

of a lover

        at sunrise

a poetic handprint blush-

            slide

down your hips,

                    your thighs
