The Beginning of a Poem

your life
began
as a song to me
your tender heart
beat

and when
your smile
was all i had
to get out
of bed

it was enough

smiles...makes me think of kids...seeing them the first time...or anytime...they are often enough to get me going...smiles.

It is so amazing seeing them for the first time, isn't it? This was written for my eldest son and for the light he brought to my life during some very dark days.

Just lovely. I think of sometimes I was very sick with my kids (I was basically a single mother) and living in NYC had to walk them to school! Hard! (Worth it!) k.

I thought of my son when I read this. The vulnerability in this is moving and beautiful. Excellent piece. :)

Mothering, parenting, has taught me the most important lessons and allowed me to choose to evolve. I could not more agree with your sentiment; and you shared is so succinctly, so beautifully.
