after the long hours

write me a song
with your eyes
like you do

hang up your helmet,
your axe,

come
home
to
me

Two tenWord poems. Over at dVerse this week we were offered to play with the tenWord form. These two can be read together as one little love poem.

For Ian,
for Poets U,
and for all the spouses of firefighters...may the hours quicken!

smiles...my grandfather was a fireman...when he passed he was given full honors...one of the most vivid memories of my childhood...and one reason i always have such great respect for firefighters....

nothing better than coming home after a hard day's work to someone who really really cares...

Oh, the best songs are those that are written with someone's eyes. No more beautiful melody than that!

I can only imagine.. the anxiousness in waiting.. for a fireman there should be a home like this waiting... and a song after the terrors of the day is always the best.
