At
dVerse Poetics Grace has invited us to write to the delightfully vibrant
artwork of Sunita Khedekar. She also
encouraged us to use color words with the help of The Phrontistery. The piece I chose to write to reminded me of a
cabin we’ve stayed at a few times with a private outdoor hot tub in a beautiful
natural setting…trees, creek…just picturesque. We
always chuckle at a sign they have posted there that reads, “We don’t skinny dip, we chunky dunk.” Anyway, however
you are…make a splash. ;)

A fun piece :)
This is truly delightful, K...& I love "a sarcoline
memory quilting"...
Thank you so much for your prayers and offering of support during Mom's illness. It meant the world to me.
Oh, I really liked the word play here! Really enjoyable to think about the 'splash, giggling.'
How fun that you took the painting and heard its sounds! I especially enjoyed the finale.
This is so fun, Jennifer: the words harmonizing with Sunita Khedekar's artwork, beautifully - and the onomatopoeia (hope I've got that right) whimsical and BANG on!
I think you mean J? lol ...hugs...
a great memory - I'm sure it always brings a shared smile.
Perfect. You had fun with this. It zings and pings and I love the patchwork quilt ending.
What can I say but that I agree this is a fizzle fuzzle FUN poem?!
Very nice impact!
So much fun! Your poem would also work for Brian's Blind Poet prompt. :)
oh i love the sounds and the carefree feel of the poem.. just like a day with a loved one by the sea... very cool
The patchwork quilt is what I seem but your interpretation of the swimming was totally unexpected but very effective ;)
Well done for combining the sounds with the visuals... I agree it would have fitted with the Blind Poet prompt as well... light and fun too!
A happy joyful splash indeed!!
Lovely--the vivid verbs take this one straight to the senses. Excellent work!
The sounds here are marvelous as are the end.. and I had to google sarcoline ... great closing.
I love the sounds as the words flow towards the big splash..
Chunky dunk! Ha. This is so fun and bright - perfectly rendered.

wow...so nice to read....lovely
What a lovely feeling I had while reading this.
Wonderful fun, evokes memories of youthful days, and times of splashing... freely. Stories from a former life...
Lovely, light, fun to read. Great words to bring the image to life.
