Balm (A Butterfly Cinquain)

Photo © 2013 Jennifer Wagner

Speak soft-
petaled twilight
against my shoulders, tanned
and salty, from a day rippling
with sun.
Envelop me, with your mouth, cool
with mint and cucumber,
our purpling kiss,
perfumed.

  25. I have a soft spot for cinquains and variations of them; this one is really good. I especially like the way the two wings of the butterfly contrast with each other in their imagery, but end up hot ... smiles
