surrounded
by magenta petunias
and my friday night lights
it’s patio-perfect in spring
my footfall
and yours
tiptoeing
past the snoring
winter wolf moon
turned pink
—and the little clink
our glasses make
to toast
the sun-drenched, fresh
summer
we’ve palmed
of our lives
For dVerse Quadrille #199: T.G.I.F.
NPM Day 15
Refreshing and fun, especially like the moon. I’ll drink to that!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteI loved snoring winter wolf moon, turned ping, lovely!
Oh, myyyyy. There is SO much to love here! The pink, and tink, are my favorite. My hubby and I adore hanging out on our back patio as often as we can. You've captured the feeling perfectly, and those last lines are **chef's kiss**.
ReplyDeleteSharing this life with another is truly heaven on earth. You're blessed <3
ReplyDeleteWhen we reach that wonderful time of the year, that's when the patio becomes worth its cost.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the use of colour in your quadrille, Jennifer, and the image of night lights on a patio surrounded by petunias. It’s far too cold to sit on our patio at the moment, but the solar lights cheer me up when they come on.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully colored with a sunny satisfactions. Wonderfully written, Jennifer!
ReplyDeleteAs the Beatles once sang, everything is what you make it. I love the way you used "palmed" here.
ReplyDeleteI love the winter wolf moon.
