Unfold a whisper
held on your tongue—
it is sweetest released
on the curve of my ear—
your lips a light-touch paintbrush
coloring my skin.
And you will find me
folding
my hand into yours—
a canvas of two—
us blended,
entwined and unending.

Nice one Jennifer
ReplyDeleteMuch💛love
"A canvas of two" is perfection. Beautiful poem.
ReplyDeleteI feel two hearts as one here. What a joyful reality to feel that way about someone.
ReplyDeleteThere is so much love in these words. These lines especially spoke to me,
ReplyDelete"And you will find me
folding
my hand into yours—
a canvas of two—"
I like how the first stanza is unfolding and the second is folding.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Love the blending of the two... and into a new hue!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely!
ReplyDeleteYours is a lovely quadrille ... a love story.
ReplyDeleteYou got me at unfold a whisper... such expression of love.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of unfolding ‘a whisper held on your tongue’, Jennifer, and I imagined feeling it on the curve of my ear! I also liked that the second stanza has a folding of hands.
ReplyDelete"unfold a whisper"--you hooked me with that first line. Beautiful!
