Objects May Appear Out of Focus

as if beauty belongs to youth alone
and is not earned in the lines of skin lived and

held tight to truths within
where one size could never fit all

smiles. great short...for one, i believe beauty lives at all ages...just a bit different you know...and that not all are the same and one size not fitting all...not a bad thing...at all. smiles.

True, beauty lies in the eyes of beholder and people should be beautiful from heart.

Succinct and yet, speaking volumes. Beauty need not be a factor of age, right? Superbly written. I love it.

So very true. Beauty exists beyond a wrinkle free skin. And, I think, inner beauty increases with age and experience. Nicely and concisely penned!

Very succinct - and wonderfully characterized. I had a take on beauty in my poem this week as well. Thanks for sharing.

I so identify with your title - my entire world is out of focus these days, but it is likely more beautiful that way!

How often this question is asked and yet the way you pose the "as if" is perfect. Nice conservation of words and a good message as well.

Very true. Our societies tend to revolve or focus on a beauty that so limits us to see the deeper beauty in everything around us that can really soothe the soul...

the 'as if' is really the crux of this. great way to start it off, gives it that hint of sarcasm as well.

Fantastic. Our culture's view of beauty is horribly skewed.

.as if... I believe it when I look up on other faces, not so much my own. ;P LOVE this snippet of a poem. ( (commenting late for Poetry Pantry #149) )

Amen to that. Even the most structurally perfect, expertly made up young face looks unfinished, somehow. Let me see a little of the life that face is living!
