blonde and brown
heads bobbling
with energy
they, like arrows,
pierce the earth
with exuberance
never losing
their silly, boyish grins
as i watch them
jumping, bouncing
wrestling each other
on the trampoline
where they forget
brotherly offenses
i hope they never lose this
ability to get lost
in the moment
with laughter
and forgiveness
like dollops of rain
drenching the
thirsty onlookers
and me the memory of it

Nice :) My boys are my favorite people to watch too. :)
A fantastic play to Brian's prompt and a fantastic link-up to OpenLinkNight...two birds, one stone! And I loved having the chance to get lost in the moment too. The title is awesome, the moment perfection!
What a beautiful share here! What fun to observe one's children having fun like this at play!! They will enjoy reading this poem some day.
i hope they never lose it as well...or i lose it...or lose sight of it even when my body no longer lets me...glad you brought this back around because i would have hated to miss it...i love watching kids esp...they remind me to act young...smiles.
I have two boys, too... and a daughter... and the joy I get when I see them connect like this... every mothers wish. Love this.
Love it, I wish we could all work things out in such a whimsy way.

"and me the memory of it" thats a great way to sum it up i think, enjoyed this very much, brought back lots of memories.
I still remember my boys like this! :)
You carried me two decades back, when my three romped free... of so much. Thank you.
wonderful. i wish we could remember the simplicity of forgiveneswhen we were children and take it with us throughout our whole lives.
such a beautiful thing to get lost in the moment...just enjoying...yeah..don't want to lose this as well...and where i lost is, wanna get it back..
What a lovely moment to get lost in... lovely poem.
Beautiful. I've written several about watching my boys, then watching my grandchildren. Children are wonderful to observe!
Great capture of a shared moment, a wonderful memory to file away.
Jennifer, I think play, for all of us at any age, takes all the rough edges off our orneriness. This was precious to read.
there definitely is something magical about watching children. a very cute piece.
It amazes me how children hurt or make eachother angry and them forgive with the next breath and move. Wonderful.
Thank you :)
Thanks Natasha, appreciate your visit and your kind words too!
That's a nice thought Mary--hope they do. Thanks!
I think I learn as much from them as they do from me...and I hope, like you, that I can hold onto these memories...thanks Brian, I so appreciate the opportunities dVerse creates.
I so know what you mean...I have 4 boys and it is the delight of my heart to see them when they are connecting with one another. Thanks Laurie!
