I've done my share of cutting and chopping firewood. There comes a point in the process, if the day is not too cold, when you start shedding layers of clothing---even the flannel shirt!
__And >rests< stands out to me, at least the flannel shirt is at rest... and then the fire. Nifty haiku scene, Jenn! (I leave in comment, an echo your verse inspired)
one more log we rest at this night's fire a dull axe

Very delicately and nicely done.
hmmm...you have me wondering where the owner of that shirt is...very nicely written.
I can smell the fire, lovely write and now have the irrestible urge to light a fire and put on my flannel.
