I wrote a poem
about two people
I often see
strolling together
holding hands—
is that you now on
streets unending?
Every morning made
fit for a king
whispering
poetry
to the ear of the one
you love?

been Doreen and me, if we had been in Seattle. It's a beautiful picture you
paint and you delineate it well. Thanks for helping to make my morning.” – Dave

What a wonderful idea - to write a poem based on a comment Dave left. And it is a gem of a poem indeed. Dave was indeed a very 'giving' kind of commenter, understanding that reciprocity is a wonderful thing. He brought joy to others and I could SEE him whispering poetry indeed.
A poignant write.>KB
A very personalised tribute - such a nice idea.
What a wonderful idea. and how you exercised this to a tribute. Just wonderful
a street for kings..love that you built his name in... and yes... i echo mary...he surely was a giving person... always thoughtful as well...and that comment brought me to tears again...
smiles...it is a beautiful thought...that on the other side we can be strolling the streets with the one we love...and whispering poetry...very cool...this would be just reward for such a man....smiles.
Oh, that second stanza took my breath away...
Jennifer--this one gave me the chills...and I still have them. So evocative.
Lovely to this of words whispered on earth carrying and lasting in heaven, A wonderful thought of love.
Jennifer, this is so wonderful--I love how you used his comment as a base for your poem. He was generous and kind with his comments and his poems were some of my favorites :-)
He was such a sincere commenter--never a false note. This is a haunting, almost other-worldly piece that yet anchors us with the idea that love is the line connecting both here and there.
I love that you weave your words on his comment back to you ~ I too read back his comments and felt his comforting hand ~ Thanks for the lovely tribute ~
Aww... I love this!
Jennifer! This is just amazing, what a great idea and to "hear" his voice again like this. Yes, he is strolling hand in hand once again. (shivers went through me when I read this!)
What a beautiful thing, using one of his wonderful comments as inspiration. Dave will be missed...
this was wonderful weaving your words with his..a touching tribute..
Love this Jennifer, especially "the street for Kings".
That is a perfect way to honor him. A merging of words. Beautiful.

Yes, this is beautiful Jennifer!
A lovely tribute. I remember the original poem well, and reread it again today
. . . very moving.
What a creative and touching way to give tribute to Dave.
Cool and hopeful, Jennifer ~
Very beautiful
This is as good as anything I've read in a long while. Lovely, just lovely.
I like the poem itself and the fact that it is a tribute. Very cool.
This is truly a wonder of a poem - and, hopefully, a glimpse of Dave, strolling through heaven, relishing the birdsong and the morning.
Beautiful - a wonderful tribute.
