I’ve always been a Mustang girl,
but this—
cherry red
and just my size,
caught my eye,
turned my head, full throttle.
Oh, little red
prince,
you’re a sweet-tooth-ache
parked sugar daddy, solid, timeless—
and I’m still young and free
and cruise-ready
to coddle.

dVerse Quadrille 227: a poem of exactly 44 words including some form of the word “turn”
Jennifer, I can feel your jones for this "parked sugar daddy." Love the Prince reference!
ReplyDeleteMy brother had one of these; wrapped it around a telephone pole...
ReplyDeleteOh how I could see you in it! Love the sweet-tooth-ache, put a smile on my face.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! Very yummy indeed.
ReplyDeleteGoing for a ride!
ReplyDeleteJennifer, your poem feels like a joyride—playful and smooth. I really enjoyed the cheeky energy and the way desire and freedom seem to share the driver’s seat.
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
David
Well that was hilarious! Realy very good...the sugar daddy line brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThis is stellar writing, Jennifer!
ReplyDeleteWhat David said, a joy ride of a poem, and yes, that car could turn one away from even a Mustang.
ReplyDeleteLove where you took the quadrille challenge ~~ literally. Fast and furious.
ReplyDeleteGreat poem, Jennifer!
