Conifers and
salmon,
seagrass and
shellfish—
where fresh
meets salt,
where the tide
meets the river
in a cocktail
of creation;
a symphony,
if you will,
of the Conductor’s
hand
who sets the tempo
and shapes the Sound
I live in.

So beautiful, Jennifer... the Conductor is very special, indeed... and I love that you give him all the glory.
Puget Sound is very beautiful, and not too far from where I live on Vancouver Island. There is no place more beautiful to live than by the sea.
This sounds really idyllic and peaceful, Jennifer. What a beautiful place.
So beautifully written! Stellar.
a symphony set by the creators hand...smiles...i like...and i miss living near the beach...tasting the salt meet the land...
This is beautiful, Jennifer. Your line breaks and one-word lines work perfectly, like the right amount of seasoning - to flavor this write. ~
You seem to live in a beautiful and pristine place! A place with salmon and conifers cannot be bad!
Love it! Gorgeous state. I was there on my honeymoon almost 26 years ago! Do you read Christian fiction? I believe the Sweet Briar series is a story based on facts about how Puget Sound began. I loved the whole series!
Lovely descriptions here and poem is well crafted I think. You do live in a beautiful area.
It sounds beautiful - I think I could live where you are. I need the pine and salt!
you captured the magic of being by the sea... there is nothing quite like it....
shaping sound
I love this
and yes, all
by His hand
I love the way this poem falls with the short lines cascading dreamlike. You’ve composed this so perfectly, I can almost hear the sounds of the Sound.
Ah yes, the Great Northwest ... I share that with you. Your poem is lovely.
Where all things meet, to become one; so well written Jenn. _m
Seraphic, beautiful like the conductor's direction...like always.
This is absolutely beautiful....
Washington is one my dream city..... I want to atleast be there once
a symphony,
if you will,
Beautiful words that picture of the creator and the creation is perfect harmony, creating pure music of the heart. Lovely words beautifully crafted.
beautiful description and so lovely natural surroundings
I wondered at first where you were going with this:
Conifers and
salmon,
seagrass and
shellfish—
I like where you took things! Wonderful piece. One of these days, I'd like to explore that area.

Jen, I have been there and it is as wondrous as you describe! I love your poem and the way you aligned the view-beautiful!!!
I hope you are doing well~
Jennifer--I love estuaries, they are such interesting places--rivers, saltwater, seabirds :-) can feel it in your words--and that ending, so very clever-- Conductor-Sound :-)
I love how you have reduced the richness of your world to so few worlds ... and I like your use of metaphor too ... this os a sparse poem tha tis extremely rich.
Thank you. Love love, Andrew. Bye.
I like this small snapshot of Creation. I can picture it.
A beautiful place
Minimalist and highly descriptive. Loved how your poem sparked my imagination into filling in the details.
