Even if the hearse is of a different color,
when the bumper sticker displays
a grim price,
no one wants to pay,
but get out of the reaper’s way
and live to fiesta another day.

Note: not sure if it's very readable, but the orange sticker lists the price on this is as $235!!
I love how you acknowledge how we surely must approach life and all its inevitabilities. Have just started a 'Day Of The Dead' colouring book and your wonderful poem reminded me of that and all the positive colours you cause! Jae
ReplyDeleteVery colourful. I have seen John Lennon's limo which was equally colourful, and here in town there is a van made of driftwood, also very cool. I enjoyed this, Jennifer.
ReplyDeleteI like the philosophy herein! Worthy of Emily Dickenson! (Susan)
ReplyDeleteI find a contrast between the 'hearse' and to 'get out of the reaper’s way' and also between the sticker with a grim price and 'fiesta'. Color of life binds them neatly. I love the positive approach. Not sure if I have read the poem correctly.
ReplyDeleteLove the wordplay no one wants to pay, but get out of the reaper’s way So yes lets Fiesta
ReplyDeleteAh yes, we all strive to stay out of the reaper's way for as long as we can! (What a colorful/magical hearse!)
ReplyDeleteLove the VW . The hippy grim reaper meets the ferry man of the Styx
ReplyDeleteI like your "hearse is of a different color" but I wouldn't want to have my body in one like what you have showing.
ReplyDeleteThat would be a vivid hearse...I like the idea, but I will splash through some more bright colors before my ride. :)
